West Coast Northland, New Zealand
Three private lodges perched on the cliff edge above the Kaipara Harbour. Remote, silent, and genuinely extraordinary.
About this place
Pouto Point occupies the southern tip of the Pouto Peninsula — a long, narrow finger of land that stretches down between the Kaipara Harbour and the Tasman Sea. It's one of the most remote and beautiful corners of Northland.
The three Henare New Zealand lodges sit on the cliff edge, elevated above the harbour. From your deck you look out over the water in three directions. The nearest neighbours are far enough away that you won't see them. The loudest sound at night is the wind and the waves below.
In summer the days are long and warm, the harbour glitters, and the pohutukawa trees flower crimson at the cliff edge. In winter the skies clear and the stars are extraordinary.
